Safe Harbour Society recently achieved accreditation through a rigorous assessment of its services and programs.

Accreditation Canada, who has been helping organizations improve their quality and safety for more than 60 years, sent a survey team that spent three days at the Safe Harbour facility to evaluate all processes, policies, and delivery systems to ensure that they meet or exceed national standards for quality and safety.

Safe Harbour voluntarily participated in the accreditation process.

“Quality and safety are extremely important to everyone who works here. These results demonstrate our commitment to quality initiatives that make our clients, staff, and neighbours safer,” said Kath Hoffman, Safe Harbour executive director, in a statement.

Safe Harbour runs a medically supported detox, housing, outreach support, shelter for people intoxicated or under the influence, and an Indigenous support program Wellbriety Recovery

Surveyors said they were impressed by the agency’s range of services, and singled out the effectiveness and efficiency of the Detox program.

“I am proud of our team and the work they do. This confirms Safe Harbour’s role as a leader in delivering vital services to our community,” Hoffman said.
