Santa’s Bus Tour is back to take jolly old St. Nick through Red Deer neighbourhoods starting Dec. 8.
Annette Scheper, community and program facilitator for special events with the city, said this year even more lights — an estimated 8,500 — will cover the bus so it will be impossible to miss and may well outshine any other Santa vehicle in Canada.
“It is a super blinged-out bus. I’ve had wonderful Santa helpers to help decorate the bus,” said Scheper about the bus that people will also hear because it will be playing Christmas tunes.
It’s the fourth annual Santa’s Bus Tour to bring Santa to Red Deer neighbourhoods so he can wave from the bus to Red Deerians young and old. For safety reasons, people should remain on sidewalks or yards as the bus drives by.
She said a few more streets were added to the tour this year, but due to his busy schedule, Santa’s bus can’t visit every street in the city. People will have to find the closest route to their home.
