School bus driver charged in collision near Sylvan Lake

A 43-year-old bus driver has been charged after a bus collided with a water truck on Hwy 11 near Sylvan Lake on Thursday.

Sylvan Lake RCMP have determined that the Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools bus had turned left across the path of the westbound water truck.

The female driver has been charged with turning left unsafely under Section 34 (2) of the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulations.

One student was on the bus and did not receive serious injuries.
