Champion fiddler Scott Woods is bringing his Old Fashioned Hoedown to Red Deer next month.

The multi-talented entertainer and musician is back on the road with two other talented musicians, and is stopping at Red Deer’s Memorial Centre at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Known as both “The Fergus Fiddler” and “The Flippin’ Fiddler,” Woods is a two-time winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Contest, two-time winner of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championship, as well as Fiddle Entertainer of the Year.

In 2018 he was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association.

He’s touring west from Ontario with a brand-new show that’s geared to create an enjoyable evening of family entertainment. For anyone who enjoys the best in old-time fiddling, step dancing, country music, and comedy, “this is the show for you,” says Woods.

Joining him on stage will be his sister Kendra Norris, a singer and multi-instrumentalist (who is also a Canadian Fiddle Champion, as well as a three-time Duet Fiddle Champion with her brother Scott.) And also featured is champion step-dancer and drummer Leo Stock, 18, known as “Spaghetti Legs.”
