A routine traffic stop leads Blackfalds RCMP to the discovery of a stolen license plate.

According to a RCMP Facebook post, Blackfalds police officers were patrolling through Blackfalds when a driver was spotted without a seatbelt on. As the member turned to intercept the driver, the vehicle began to flee.

The motorist turned down a dead-end street, stopping before she hit the barricade. It was found that the driver had warrants from Innisfail and Olds.

The woman blew over the limit on an alcohol screening device, although she was on a bail condition not to consume intoxicating substances.

Upon further investigation, a vehicle plate stolen out of Rocky Mountain House was discovered.

The driver now faces a bail hearing.
