Ponoka RCMP are at the scene of serious collision on Hwy 2A, near Morningside.
On Tuesday, at about 9:15 a.m., Ponoka RCMP were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision.
A westbound vehicle travelling on Hwy 604 had entered Hwy 2A and struck a southbound vehicle.
The two occupants of the southbound vehicle were transported to hospital by EMS with serious injuries.The driver of the westbound vehicle was also transported by EMS with undetermined injuries.
The investigation is on-going, and the RCMP Collision Analyst was called in to assist.
Traffic in the area of Hwy 604 and Highway 2A has been stopped. Motorists are asked to avoid Hwy 2A between Lacombe and Ponoka and to use Hwy 2 as an alternate route.
A further update will be provided once more information is known.
