It will be a seven-horse race to fill a vacant Rocky Mountain House town council position.

When nominations closed last Friday at noon, seven candidates had filed their papers.

Donna Anderson, David Auld, Denise Boniface, Melissa Frenette, Terri Kalyn, William Ray Snyder and Nathan Turner all hope to take a seat on council.

The byelection was called after Scott Collinson resigned on Feb. 4.

Advance voting will take place April 25 at the Christenson Sports and Wellness Centre, Subway Room, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The regular vote will take place May 3 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Christenson Sports and Wellness Centre.

Institutional votes will also be conducted May 3 at Westview Lodge, Good Samaritan Clearwater Centre, Columbus Place, Park Avenue and the Rocky Hospital.

Rocky council includes Mayor Tammy Burke and six councillors.
