Voters in Olds will have plenty of choice when they go to elect a new town councillor.

Seven candidates have put their names forward for the Jan. 20 byelection. A spot came open on the seven-person council when Wade Bearchell announced last month he was resigning from council for personal reasons.

Keith Bishop, Sundai Cody, Darcy Dobush, Rudy Francis Durieux, Mitch Thomson, Jan Thompson and Darren Wilson are all running.

Voting for the byelection takes place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion.

Advance votes have been set for Jan. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon in council chambers at the town office at 4512 46th St.

Identification is required to vote.
