Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening for the Red Deer area, as well as Rocky Mountain House and Caroline.
Environment Canada says the storm could include large hail and damaging winds.
Thunderstorms are currently developing along the foothills and are forecast to develop in southeastern Alberta this afternoon. Currently large hail and heavy rain are the main threats but all severe thunderstorms are capable of producing a tornado.
Residents are urged to monitor weather conditions and check for updates. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.
