Each time one of the skaters participating in the Pond Hockey Skate-a-rama on Saturday afternoon at the Kinsmen Ice Arenas completed a five laps of the rink they would have to stop by the players bench and have one of the volunteer parents like Theresa Chilibeck mark their card. Most of the approximately 700 skaters - from both Pond Hockey and Red Deer Minor Hockey - had pledges for about 100 laps, the exception was one skater who had pledges for 300 laps. All the funds that the skaters raised was going back to their respective teams.
