A suspected car thief in Stettler was caught napping — literally — by RCMP.

Stettler RCMP and Blackfalds integrated traffic unit officers responded on Wednesday to a call of a man sleeping in a vehicle in downtown Stettler.

The vehicle had been reported stolen two days earlier. James Hall, 40, has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

On Thursday, police went to a location near Halkirk as part of an investigation into a stolen vehicle that had been involved in a collision.

Jayson Marshall, 31, of Stettler was arrested on warrants, along with a female Lacombe youth.

The police dog unit found and arrested a third suspect, Ernest Bedore, 48, who had warrants out for his arrest.

The investigation into the collision continues.

On Aug. 29, Stettler RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle, but it fled.

A suspect was identified and police arrested him at his home. Danial Grams, 37, of Byemoor was arrested, along with MacKenzie Hardy, 18, of Red Deer, who was wanted on arrest warrants from a number of areas.
