One person suffered minor injuries and two others walked away from a place crash at the Three Hills Airport Tuesday morning.

Three Hills RCMP said the small plane was traveling from La Crete with three on board when it tried to land in inclement weather at the airport about 100 kms south east of Red Deer.

The plane landed short of the runway, but came to rest on the runway, damaging the landing gear and left wing of the aircraft.

One passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to Three Hills with pain in his chest area. The pilot and another passenger were not injured.

Three Hills RCMP, Fire and EMS attended the scene to provide assistance.

The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified and will attend the crash scene.

Local authorities are dealing with a fuel leak from the plane, which will have to be cleaned up to prevent any contamination.
