A small plane crashed into Glennifer Lake, about 24 km west of Innisfail, on Friday afternoon.

Innisfail RCMP said the plane was located on the ice covered lake near Range Road 30, and the pilot, who was the lone occupant, was uninjured.

Police with Red Deer County Emergency Services and EMS responded to the crash shortly after 2 p.m.

Police said circumstances surrounding the unintentional landing are not criminal in nature and the investigation has been concluded. Transportation Safety Board worked in partnership with the Innisfail detachment.
