Snow expected Thursday, Friday in Central Alberta

A special weather statement in effect for most of Central Alberta including Red Deer.

Snow is in the forecast starting in Grande Catche Thursday evening and spreading southeastwards to Sundre by Friday.

The special alert in effect for County of Stettler, Lacombe County, City of Lacombe, Blackfalds, Alix, Clive, Ponoka County, Ponoka, and parts of Red Deer County.

Red Deerians can expect a 30 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries Thursday evening.

Environment Canada website states snowfall warning may be issued for Central Alberta at a later point.
