Enforcement officers will once again camp out on Walmart’s roof at Parkland Mall to raise money for Special Olympics Alberta.
Free Our Finest, a 54-hour event, is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Alberta, will start Aug. 27 and end Aug. 29.
Participants will include members with Alberta Correctional Services, Alberta Sheriffs, Alberta Animal Services, Red Deer RCMP, SAOCC RCMP Telecommunications, and 2 squadron, 41 (one) signal regiment in Red Deer which is part of Alberta’s 41 (one) Brigade in the Army Reserve.
Law enforcement has partnered with Walmart for Free Our Finest.
LETR merchandise will be available for purchase. Donations are accepted and welcomed.
Last year $320,000 was raised across Alberta to benefit local programs.
Internationally, the LETR for Special Olympics is the largest grassroots fundraiser and awareness program for Special Olympics. More than 85,000 law enforcement officers from 10 Canadian provinces and 3 territories, the 50 United States, and 46 countries internationally form the largest grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics.
