War sacrifices are being remembered through different events at the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery this month.

The travelling exhibit World War Women continues until Nov. 20. On Nov. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m, there will be an opportunity to see the exhibit and have a meet and greet with the museum’s new executive-director, Scott Marsden.

On Remembrance Day, from 1-4 p.m., informal tours of the exhibit will be available, and participants can create a paper collage from a victory quilt patch to take home.

On Nov. 20, Stacey Barker, a historian from the Canadian War Museum will speak on the impact of the Second World War on Canadian women, mostly those who chose to join the military. This talk will be livestreamed on the MAG’s YouTube and Facebook pages at 2 p.m.
