Lacombe’s Cow Patti Theatre is cancelling one of its productions “to ensure the sustainability of our theatre” during the spread of the Omicron variant.
Norm Foster’s On a First Name Basis will no longer be in Cow Patti’s winter season lineup.
This pro-active measure was taken because having to stop another production in the middle of its run would be financially “intolerable,” states a release from Lacombe’s professional theatre company.
Two previous Cow Patti plays had their runs interrupted by COVID restrictions and a lockdown.
Members of the theatre company will instead focus their efforts on the March production of another Foster comedy: Jonas and Barry in the Home (which will run from March 10 to April 3).
There will also be an April Cow Patti show: Sweet Dreams, The Music of Patsy Cline (April 6 to 17). Both of these productions will run at the Tin Roof Event Centre, northeast of Lacombe.
Anyone with paid reservations for the cancelled On a First Name Basis can have their tickets transferred to either of the other Cow Patti productions, or receive a refund.
