The City of Red Deer closed all its outdoor ice surfaces on Thursday due to warming temperatures.

Bower Ponds, Anders on the Lake, and West Lake skating areas are now closed due to poor ice conditions. Boarded and unboarded rinks are also closed.

Crews are in the process of putting up signs around the natural bodies of water to notify public of the unsafe ice conditions. The public are asked to stay safe by obeying all signs and barricades and to keep off the ice.

The Bower Ponds Pavilion will remain open for games night and private event bookings.
