Stettler RCMP are asking the public to help determine the nature behind a shooting incident.

Between 4 and 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 22, an elderly female was driving a grey 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe in the area of Secondary Highway 855, north of Highway 12, when she became “lost and disoriented,” police said.

She was located unharmed at a residence unknown to her on Range Road 18-0 near Township Road 395.

A RCMP investigation revealed the car she was driving was shot once, causing damage to the front windshield. The bullet missed her and she was not injured.

The female is not aware of when the gunshot occurred.

Police are trying to establish a timeline of events to clarify the nature of this incident.

Anyone who may have seen her vehicle during these hours, driving in the area referenced and possibly onto residential properties, is asked to contact Stettler RCMP at 403-742-3382.
