Stettler RCMP locate wanted man

A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was arrested after a stolen truck was recovered by Stettler RCMP on Wednesday.

Police said at about 1 p.m. officers went to a rural residence on Highway 601 to arrest Ernest Bedore who was wanted for being unlawfully at large.

Police said RCMP located a stolen vehicle being driven on the property. The driver of the vehicle revved the engine several times before backing up and crashing into another parked vehicle on the property. The truck was then abandoned on the property.

Stettler Integrated Traffic Unit, Bashaw RCMP and Red Deer City Police Dog Service were called to assist.

The stolen truck was later recovered and Bedore was arrested inside a residence. Bedore will be incarcerated at Drumheller Penitentiary until June 24, 2020.

Police also executed arrest warrants for Serg Landry and Noelle Pedersen.

Pedersen, who had seven outstanding warrants for a total of 12 outstanding charges dating back to 2016, was released for to attend court in Stettler on June 25.

Landry was released to attend court in Innisfail.

Traffic on Highway 601 was stopped and redirected onto the gravel roads as RCMP completed their investigation. Stettler RCMP would like to thank the public for their understanding and co-operation during this disruption.
