Two Calgarians were arrested in Innisfail in connection with the theft of two catalytic converters early Friday morning.

Innisfail RCMP said at 12:10 a.m., officers responded to a complaint about a vehicle that appeared to be prowling around Hooker’s Towing.

The suspect vehicle was located at McDonald’s restaurant drive-thru and police arrested a 34-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.

Police said the licence plate on the vehicle was stolen, and methamphetamine and two newly stolen catalytic converters were found inside the vehicle.

The suspects were jointly charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The woman was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and provincial offences.

The identities of the accused were not released as charges had not yet been sworn. Both were released to appear in Red Deer provincial court on April 3.
