Stolen firearms discovered in stolen RV by Rimbey RCMP

Rimbey RCMP recovered stolen firearms and other items after searching a parked recreational vehicle.

On Monday at about 2 a.m., police officers located a stolen vehicle and RV parked in a church parking lot in Rimbey.

A search of the stolen motor home revealed seven stolen firearms as well as other stolen property.

Later, Rimbey RCMP, with the assistance of Sylvan Lake, Breton/Thorsby RCMP detachments, and Red Deer Police Dog Services, located a 37-year-old man, of Sylvan Lake, in a nearby home.

He was charged with 20 offences, including failing to comply with release order conditions, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm and fleeing from police.

He is in custody with his next court appearance set for Wednesday in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court House by CCTV.
