The threat of large hail, thunderstorms and rain for Red Deer is over as Environment Canada has ended the special weather statement it issued Wednesday.

While the special weather statement for the Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail and Stettler areas of Central Alberta has ended, a thunderstorm watch is still in effect for areas north and west of Red Deer including Rocky Mountain House and Caroline.
