Get ready for a summer celebration at Common Ground Garden Project in Capstone on Aug. 20, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to the free event that will feature live music, food trucks, and information about the garden project that is a collaboration between ReThink Red Deer and the City of Red Deer to supply fresh produce to local agencies, like the Mustard Seed and Red Deer Food Bank.

The first phase of the garden is 10,000 square feet where vegetables were grown this season to help fight food insecurity and to teach about gardening, local nature, and community development.

Common Ground is located on four acres at 5581 45th St. between Troubled Monk and a small park by the Red Deer River.
