Venus, is one of the pieces in Susan Delaney’s exhibit titled, Readings — Myth, Dream, Meaning: Bookworks by Susan Delaney, currently viewable at the Harris-Warke Gallery, 4924 Ross Street, until Feb. 11. According to the artist, these paintings, sculptural pieces and altered books began with the idea of the modern interpretation of the medieval Book of Hours, which contained richly illustrated prayers appointed to be said at specified hours of the day.
