Sharp-eyed Innisfail homeowners helped police nab a suspected thief.
Innisfail RCMP got a call about 6:35 a.m. on Wednesday that a suspicious man was seen walking through a local neighbourhood trying to get into unlocked vehicles.
Over the next few hours, more calls came in from residents complaining about thefts from vehicles. Some went to social media to report give others the heads-up on the suspicious wanderer.
About 10 a.m., police with the help of community peace officers spotted a suspect and took him into custody.
A 19-year-old, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and attempted theft under $5,000.
Police remind the public that if they see supicious activity togive them a call immediately.
