Suspect arrested after tire slashing in downtown

Red Deer RCMP urge public to report suspicious activity; don’t wait for someone else to make the call

One person has been charged as a result of an investigation after a tire was slashed and a tire rim was damaged in downtown Red Deer on July 14.

Red Deer RCMP said officers patrolling 50th Avenue and 50th Street were flagged down at about 8:45 a.m. by someone to report the damage worth about $550.

RCMP investigated and obtained video surveillance, and a suspect was identified and arrested with the assistance of the Downtown Patrol Unit. Charges are pending.

Red Deer RCMP urge anyone who witnesses a crime, or suspicious activity, to report the incident by calling police, making a report online, visiting the RCMP detachment, or flagging down an officer.
