A Red Deer man is facing two dozen charges in connection with a two-hour standoff with police last Thursday night.
Police said an armed man had barricaded himself inside a home on Galbraith Street. They asked the public to stay away from the area and to refrain from taking pictures and posting them on social media.
A suspect was taken into custody shortly after 9 p.m.
Christopher Sinclair, 36, has been charged with five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm; three counts each of assault with a weapon, pointing a weapon and using a firearm in the commission of an offence; two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime.
Sinclair also faces seven charges of failing to comply with court release conditions.
He is scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on April 15.
