Sweet Dreams, Music of Patsy Cline is performed on the Cow Patti stage in Lacombe

The music of Patsy Cline will be brought to life on the Cow Patti Theatre stage this month by singer Leisa Way.

Sweet Dreams — The Music of Patsy Cline will continue until April 17 at the Tin Roof Event Centre, east of Lacombe.

Way has been called a “powerhouse performer” who’s come closest to emulating the essence and passion of the country music legend. Cline is considered one of the must influential vocalists of the 20th century, despite tragically dying at the age of 30 in a plane crash on March 5, 1963.

Way, a Canadian singer, will perform 25 of Cline’s biggest hits wth a her Wayward Wind band.

Audience members will hear Tennessee Waltz, Crazy, Sweet Dreams, I Fall to Pieces, and of course, Walkin’ After Midnight.

Way also plans to share stories and anecdotes about Cline, who paved the way for female singers to cross over from country to pop charts in the 1950s.

Way’s Wayward Winds band includes guitarist John Kenny, bassist Junior Riggin, and drummer Don Reid. Musical arranger Bruce Ley was the pianist for The Tommy Hunter Show.
