Central Alberta Dance Club monthly dances are held at Penhold Memorial Hall on the fourth Friday of each month starting at 8 p.m. Upcoming bands are: Country Express on March 29 and West Country Four on April 25. Dash Into the Dawe on March 30 for a fun-filled event before the doors close for renovation. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. with a toonie swim, gym activities, cake, light refreshments and a time-capsule project. An official presentation at 2:30 will feature the proposed revitalized facility. For more information call Tara at 309-8594.

Sylvan Lake Film Society presents Atonement on March 31 at Silver Lake Cinema at 7:15 p.m.. Tickets are $8 at the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library or at the door. The film society will host a reception following the screening.

The Pursuit of Manliness: A Men’s Day presented by Davenport Church of Christ with Blair Roberts and Kirk Hinnegardt on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Topics include commitment, self-control, speech and spending. $10 registration fee includes lunch. Call 347-3986 for more information.

Community Celebration to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, at Festival Hall on March 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free entertainment and ethnic food may be purchased. Dreams Take Flight Charity Dinner and Auction is at the Blarney Stone South on April 1. Cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 and auction at 8. Tickets are $50 per plate with 100 per cent of proceeds going to Dreams Take Flight which provides special children a day at Disneyland.
