A 23-year-old man was charged after Sylvan Lake RCMP found cocaine in a hotel room.

On Monday, Sylvan Lake RCMP executed a search warrant in a hotel room, following concerns from staff about the welfare of a hotel occupant.

While checking on the guest, RCMP discovered about 70 grams of cocaine and other items associated with drug trafficking.

A 23-year-old man, of no fixed address, faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. His first court appearance is March 16 in Red Deer provincial court.
