The town’s Santa Claus Parade and fireworks show has been rescheduled for next Friday, Dec. 5, because a cold front moving in. The fun will start at 7 p.m.

Wind chills are predicted in the -25C range on Friday and the risk of frozen toes and noses prompted the town to postpone some of its popular festivities.

Going ahead as planned is the Spirit of Sylvan Yuletide Festival, which runs 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday at the Sylvan Lake Multiplex. Since the parade has been cancelled a KidZone and additional entertainment has been added. The festival continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The breakfast with Santa at Fox Run School is also a go on Saturday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
