Area residents will be asked to “ReImagine Sylvan” during the town’s Winterfest celebration this weekend.

Public input will be collected on how Sylvan Lake’s waterfront can be improved and enhanced.

The Town of Sylvan Lake is in the process of updating the Sustainable Waterfront Area Redevelopment Plan (SWARP). The long-range plan aims to enhance existing neighbourhoods, while developing policies for the redevelopment of vacant and underused spaces along the waterfront.

A Town of Sylvan Lake tent will be set up west of the pier, among Winterfest family fun activities — look for the lime green flag. Residents are invited to come on in and have their say about their waterfront.

The plan’s success relies on public participation, so town planners are hoping people will drop in between noon and 3 p.m. “to help us understand what you love about the waterfront and what the public would like to see improved.”

The town is working on the public consultation process with McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd.
