TABER, ALBERTA, Alta. — The RCMP are investigating a fatal highway crash east of Taber, Alta., early Saturday afternoon.
They say a passenger vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer truck on Highway 3 near Range Road 161 at around 12:45 p.m.
Police say both vehicles were engulfed in flames and came to rest in a ditch.
They say the 19-year-old woman driving the passenger vehicle died at the scene, while the truck driver — a 65-year-old man — was taken to hospital and later released.
There were no other people in the two vehicles.
Police say the name of the deceased is not being released at this time and that the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
