Four teenagers have been charged after a Red Deer City RCMP dog team was dispatched to the Inglewood neighbourhood early Wednesday morning.

Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Red Deer City RCMP responded to a complaint of suspicious activity in Inglewood. Concerned citizens observed a suspicious vehicle in the area and noticed four people going from vehicle to vehicle, checking to see if they were locked.

A car that the teenagers were allegedly driving had been stolen on Tuesday from a Red Deer residence.

Four teenagers — including one 14-year-old, two 16-year-olds, and one 17-year-old — have been charged with mischief to property and possession of stolen property. All four were released and are to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Sept. 30.

RCMP credited citizens who helped in the search and programs like Neighbourhood Watch for helping them in this incident.
