The Mustard Seed is beckoning warmer weather with its first annual Hawaiian Hula Dash in support of the school lunch program.

Participants can join the Mustard Seed on May 4 in this “fun-filled obstacle course with authentic Hawaiian activities” at Bower Ponds in Red Deer.

Participants will help raise funds for the School Lunch Program by creating a fundraising page and collecting donations on the Canadahelps.org event site.

Each day, around 425 students at 48 schools in central Alberta receive a healthy and nutritious lunch. The Mustard Seed School Lunch Program provides meals for students from impoverished families with the goal of allowing students to learn instead of focusing on the hunger they are experiencing.

The fundraiser is in partnership with the Red Deer Primary Care Network’s Women’s Aloha Fun Run (which is planned for May 8) and will adhere to all local community COVID-19 guidelines.

Due to COVID-19, this event is closed to spectators.
