Calgarian charged with threatening Red Deer office staff

A 38-year-old Calgary man was charged in connection to a security threat in downtown Red Deer on Wednesday afternoon.

Red Deer RCMP said a threatening phone call was made to a business at Millennium Centre about harming staff.

At about 2:30 p.m., police advised the public of a heavy police presence in the area of 49th Street and 49th Avenue and warned people to stay away.

David Anderson is charged with uttering threats and mischief. He was arrested in Calgary and is scheduled to appear in court on March 6.
