Three arrested, one man hurt in Stettler shooting

A 29-year-old Red Deer man is recovering from a gunshot wound in Foothills Hospital in Calgary.

Stettler RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the northwest area of the town around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Around the same time, police received a report from the Stettler Hospital that a man was being treated for gunshot wounds.

Investigators determined that the man was the same one identified in the assault investigation.

The shooting victim was transported by STARS air ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, from the Stettler residence were arrested without incident. Charges are pending.

Police said this was not a random incident and all persons involved in the investigation are known to police. RCMP believe there is no further risk to the public.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, police will not release further details at this time.
