Three people are facing a combined 28 drug and weapon related-charges after guns, knives and a small quantity of drugs were seized from a Grandview house this week.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and local authorities executed the search warrant in the early hours of Sept. 25.

A pistol-grip shotgun, knives, crack cocaine, marihuana and evidence of drug trafficking were seized from the home. Less than 10 grams of drugs was seized.

ALERT Red Deer initiated the investigation into the home earlier this month in response to community concerns over drug trafficking. The suspected drug house is near a local middle school.

Paul Edmund Fisch, 47, and Sharon Elizabeth Smith, 37, are facing a combined 23 drug and weapons related charges.

Investigators also arrested Ryan William Litwyn, 27, who was the subject of eight warrants out of Red Deer. Litwyn also faces five additional charges related to breach and drugs.

ALERT Red Deer, along with assistance from Red Deer RCMP officers and the RCMP Emergency Response Team executed the search.

ALERT was established and is funded by the Alberta Government and is a compilation of the province’s most sophisticated law enforcement resources committed to tackling serious and organized crime.

Nearly 400 municipal police, RCMP, and sheriffs work in ALERT across Alberta.
