Three Hills man charged with threatening Calgary’s mayor

Threats also against former Prime Minister Stephen Harper

A 31-year-old Three Hills man has been charged after online threats were made towards former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and members of the Lethbridge Police Service.

On Feb. 17 Alberta RCMP received information from Calgary Police Service about online threats made on Facebook. A suspect was arrested without incident on Feb. 18.

Dexter Shea, who was on probation for uttering threats, faces three new counts of uttering threats, and breach of probation.

Shea was remanded into custody and appeared in Strathmore provincial court on Feb. 20. He faces lengthy conditions.
