A 44-year-old man is facing numerous charges after a vehicle was driven into a rural home’s garage.

At about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Three Hills RCMP was called to a rural property, where a SUV was driven through an attached garage.

Police claim that upon arrival the male driver tried to steal a farm tractor to evade the officers who were called to the scene.

Three Hills RCMP executed a search warrant on the suspect vehicle, resulting in the seizure of 10 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of cocaine and 52 grams of fentanyl, in addition to items indicative of trafficking drugs.

The suspect, who is from Linden, is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, theft of other motor vehicle, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, driving while suspended or disqualified, driving an uninsured vehicle on a highway.

“We are thankful no one was seriously injured during this event,” said Sgt. Jamie Day, Three Hills RCMP detachment commander.

“The quick response from Three Hills RCMP officers resulted in the arrest of the male and prevented further offences from occurring.”

The suspect has been released and is set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on July 14.
