Three Hills RCMP locate stolen copper wire

A Red Deer man and woman were charged in connection to stolen copper wire following an investigation by Three Hills RCMP.

RCMP said on May 21 a large amount of copper wire was found in a bedroom at a rural property near Kneehill during a police search. More wire was located in an outbuilding.

Total weight of the seizure was 945 kilograms, valued at about $9,600.

George Jones, 43, and Trina Langevin, 42, of Red Deer, were charged with trafficking stolen property under $5,000, possession of stolen property for purpose of trafficking, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Jones and Langevin were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at Drumheller Provincial Court on June 18.
