COALDALE, Alta. — Three seniors are dead following a crash in southern Alberta on Wednesday evening.

RCMP in Coaldale, just east of Lethbridge, say a minivan heading north on Highway 845 at about 6:30 p.m. went off the highway on a curve and entered a deep ditch.

The minivan made a “significant impact” on the north bank of the ditch and came to rest on rail tracks.

The two women and one man believed to be from the Raymond, Alta., area were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the names and ages of the victims as they continue with next-of-kin notifications.
