Tickets available for Sylvan Lake’s Jazz at the Lake

Popular music festival is celebrating its 20th year on Aug. 19-21

Tickets are on sale for Sylvan Lake’s Jazz at the Lake Festival.

The three-day festival, which is celebrating its 20th year, runs from Aug. 19-21 and will be the first festival after a two-year COVID-19-related hiatus.

Festivities will kick off with a Swing Dance with Johnny Summers Little Big Band at Sylvan Lake’s Royal Canadian Legion, 4915 50th Ave. Tickets cost $30.

On Saturday, jazz lovers can take in the Blues, Bop and BBQ event featuring Jack Semple, Tim Williams and the Calgary Jazz Orchestra Big Band with special guests Cheryl Fisher and Eric Allison. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Centennial Park and tickets cost $40, $20 for children 13-17 years old and are free for children 12 and under acconpanied by an adult. There are additional charges for the BBQ and beer garden.

The headliner concert features Michael Kaeshammer, who is performing at Alliance Community Church, 4404 47th Ave. from 8 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets cost $40.

There are also numerous free events, including the Project Discovery Master Class with Little Brown Jug Brass Bound at the Alliance Community Church from 1 to 3 p.m.

All Sunday afternoon long there are free events at multiple venues along Lakeshore Drive faturing live bands as part of Pubs and Clubs.
