Torching the fish

Janet Gregory, left, and Leah Kudel keep the large glass blow fish hot while Kristyn Wozniewhich, far right, heats up a spot with a torch before adding an eye, during the final day of the Advanced Glass Glowing for Beginners class at Red Deer College, Friday. The eight students from all over western Canada spent two hours working together to design and create a large glass blow fish as part of a final project in the class. The class which is one of the few hot glass summer programs in North America was part of the Red Deer College Series: Summer School of the Arts which ran through out July and August and featured classes in sculpture, paint, ceramics, jewelry, metalsmithing, fiber art and glass beading.
