Traffic changes coming to 19th Street as construction continues

Both directions of traffic to be routed to westbound lanes of 19th Street

Motorists will see some route changes as the 19th Street road construction project enters its next phase.

Beginning Monday, both directions of traffic will use the two westbound lanes from 40th Avenue to Irwin Ave. This is to allow work to begin on the eastbound lanes.

The 40th Avenue and 19th Street intersection will continue to remain fully operational. Follow signage which will direct you to zipper merge.

Starting Tuesday, the 19th Street and 49th Avenue intersection will close again to left turns. It had been opened to left turns during Westerner Days but traffic will now resume as it has for the past two months. The intersection will allow only right-in and right-out turns.

Drivers are reminded to slow down when in construction areas and pedestrians are to cross only at designated crosswalks. Construction work is weather dependent, and schedules may be subject to change.
