Traffic patterns will change at the intersection of 19th Street and 49th Avenue on Saturday as crews progress with the 19th Street Improvements Project.

Starting at about 6 a.m. on Sept. 9, the intersection will be fully open, traffic lights will be functioning, and all four lanes will be open. The intersections of 19th Street and 46th Avenue, and 19th Street and Sharpe Avenue, will remain right-turn only unless traffic control is onsite to direct otherwise.

For the upcoming Red Deer Rebels’ exhibition games on Sept. 10 and 15, and the season home opener on Sept. 22, RCMP will be posted at the intersection of 19th Street and 46th Avenue before and after games directing traffic to permit left turns.

Drivers are reminded to slow down in construction areas and pedestrians are to cross only at designated crosswalks. Road work is weather dependent, and schedules may be subject to change.
