Train derailment between Red Deer and Blackfalds being investigated

Two train cars left the tracks early Monday morning north of Red Deer, bringing emergency crews to the area.

At about 6:30 a.m., two train cars left the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks near Hwy 2A between Red Deer and Blackfalds.

Salem Woodrow, CP spokesperson, said the cars were not carrying dangerous goods and no one was injured.

She also said a CP investigation is underway into the cause and circumstances of the derailment.
