The City of Red Deer has hopped on board offering riders the opportunity to plan their local bus trips using the website or a mobile device.

While Google Maps is a free program, the city uses staff to verify and upload the information to the website. The website — www.google.ca/maps — now displays transit information including Red Deer bus stops, routed, schedules and fares in one user-friendly place.

To find a bus route click “Get Directions” and enter your starting location and destination.

Be sure to choose the transit icon.

You can enter a time if you want to “Leave Now,” “Depart at,” or “Arrive by a “time and date,” and click the “Get Directions” button.

Google Maps will list at least three different options to travel in order of relevance and convenience.
