REGINA — A Regina couple accused in the death of a four-year-old girl and the neglect of her two-year-old sister have pleaded not guilty.

Tammy and Kevin Goforth are charged with second-degree murder and with criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

They entered the pleas Monday as their trial got underway with jury selection.

Regina police allege the girls were abused and neglected while they were living in the Goforths’ home from January to August 2012.

The girls can’t be identified because of a court order.

The Crown is expected to call 16 witnesses during the three week trial.
